Foreign language studies is a very complicated process,it not always includes the language learning, but also cultural learning and cross-cultural knowledge learning. Therefore,in order to promote the development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and to help foreigner students to integrate into the Chinese environmentt,it is necessary to pay attention to the cultural studies in the process of teaching Chinese language. In this paper we have used questionnaire survey method(SPSS 20.0)and interview research method, investigated the relationship between Chinese culture perception and Chinese language score of foreign students with different Chinese levels coming from 4 regions(Eastern Europe,Central Asia,Southeast Asia and “other” regions, including 10 countries). We have also found in which of Chinese culture aspects foreign students are the most interested in and which Chinese culture aspects they don’t really want to explore and how Chinese culture studies can affect Chinese language learning. Finally,on the base of research results we made several suggestions how to improve the efficiency of Chinese culture teaching. In the first step of the research we have found we have found out the index of Chinese culture perception and Chinese culture understanding of foreign sudents. We have also found out that cultural perception and Chinese culture understanding index is related to the Chinese language level of the student(the higher index of cultural perception, the higher their Chinese level). We have also found in which of Chinese culture aspects foreign students are the most interested in and which Chinese culture aspects they don’t really want to explore. However,we finally obtained the opposite research results,we discovered Chinese culture perception index of international students is not related to the actual Chinese language performance of the students. In order to prove the results obtained by the questionnaire, the next interview research was used. This result proves that cultural learning does not directly affect Chinese learning and Chinese progress of students.Although the results we obtained are not consistent with the hypothesis we originally proposed,we can make another important conclusion: Chinese cultural learning is an auxiliary method in the Chinese learning process. Finally, based on the analysis of the research results, this paper puts forward several suggestions and discusses how to improve the efficiency of Chinese culture teaching.
