Cultural Conflict And Anxiety Of Identity In Cross-Cultural Context

The rapid development of globalization has promoted the cultural flow among countries and regions as well as the movement of people around the world,that is the phenomenon of(international)migration.Cross-culture living environment and collision values of immigrant writers has generated the Chinese literature of rich connotation.As an important part of overseas Chinese literature,the “new immigrant literature” increasingly presents different themes and narratives.It contains cultural values that are one of the cognitive elements in cross-cultural communication,and shows the evolution process of East-West culture from conflict to intersection,which also constitutes the unique existence value and research significance of the “new immigrant literature'.As a new immigrant literary writer,Lin Mei's novels relate to the exchange and collision between Chinese traditional culture,Hong Kong's semi-traditional and semi-colonial culture,and Western culture in Europe.Therefore,it is a typical communication problem of Chinese culture in cross-cultural context,which has important research value.Her works reappear the cross-cultural and exotic life of the Chinese immigrants.Behind the image is the difference between different cultures and the confusion arising therefrom,as well as the human nature visitation in the author's transcendence perspective.Therefore,based on the theory of cultural conflict,the paper interprets Lin Mei's novels from the perspective of writer's cross-cultural creation,and probes into the cultural conflicts in characters,plot,psychology,etc.At the same time,the paper analyzes the phenomenon of cultural conflict in the works from the perspectives of the social and cultural roots of China and the West,the differences in gender status,and the emotional contradictions in the form of family images.The paper focuses on the characters' inner experience and value choice when the traditional genesof their national culture encounter with the western culture,and how they are affected by it,including the fate influenced of the characters.And further reveals the cross-culture survival situation of Chinese culture and the dilemma of modern belief and human nature beyond the perspective of modern people.The paper's cross-cultural research is more systematic and comprehensive than the previous studies on Lin-Mei's new immigrant literature.
