At present,the international promotion of Chinese language is developing rapidly.The “One Belt,One Road” initiative also pushes colleges and universities in the western region from the sidelines.It has reached a new frontier of strategy for opening to the outside world.Shihezi University is a college in the western region of China,focusing on the internationalization of higher education,in which teaching Chinese as a foreign language is an important task.The first chapter introduces the purpose and significance of this study,as well as the research status of Chinese teaching at home and abroad.From the perspective of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,this paper investigates and analyzes the teaching situation of Chinese as a foreign language at Shihezi University.Including the general situation of the development of foreign students in the school,the basic situation of the teaching subject,the professional setting and curriculum arrangement,the selection of teaching materials,and the evaluation of these parts.It provides reference for the teaching of Chinese as a second language in Shihezi University and Xinjiang.The second chapter briefly describes the development of foreign students' education in Shihezi University and the investigation.Through the analysis of the questionnaire,it is found that the school has not set up a Chinese language major for international students,and mainly offers short-term Chinese language training.The students are small in scale and have fewer sources.Teachers are in short supply,and teachers' research achievements and training opportunities are relatively few.Most of the international students did not learn systematic Chinese knowledge before enrolling,which caused a certain amount of educational resources to be wasted,and the scholarship system did not play its due role.Cultural courses are limited and the exams are relatively simple.The third chapter puts forward some thoughts and suggestions on the problems arising from the investigation.In the future,the school can establish a major in Chinese as a foreign language,as well as a Chinese language major for foreign students,and gradually recruit more foreign students.Strengthen the construction of the teaching staff,cultivate and attract outstanding talents,and support the research and training of teachers.Admission examinations are set up when enrolling international students to improving the quality of students.Expand the enrollment scale,and change the reward system.Furthermore,enrich the cultural curriculum to add local special content,select supporting materials to compose a targeted,adaptable and suitable textbook for students from Central Asia.Current teaching methods are diverse,and can also combine innovative teaching methods and increase the difficulty of examinations,thus improving the level of teaching Chinese as a foreign language at Shihezi University.The fourth chapter summarizes the main content of this article.
