A Comparative Study Of Individual Quantifiers In Chinese And Thai Languages

The Individual quantifiers is one of the grammatical features of Chinese and the grammatical content that second language learners should focus on.Thai,like Chinese,belongs to the Sino-Tibetan Language Family.Both Thai and Chinese language have similarities in classifier characteristics where there are plenty of the quantifier in both the languages which necessary for communication.As well as the foreign student to be able to easily understand while comparing the quantifier of both languagesNot only comparing the quantifier of both the language but help comparing the grammar of Thai and Chinese language.This research examines the comparison between quantified of Thai language and Chinese language.The major purpose of this research is to improve the Chinese student's knowledge of Thai language quantifier or the characteristics of the classifier and compares them in terms of word meaning,collocation,grammar,syntax and overlapping forms.This research divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction,this part,which summarizes the research background,significance and purpose of this paper,and reviews and summarizes the research status of Chinese and Thai classifiers.On the basis of previous studies,the research objects are selected and the research methods are selected.The second part is the study of Chinese individual quantifiers.It mainly examines the concept of Chinese individual quantifiers,the types of Chinese individual quantifiers,the usage of Chinese individual quantifiers(the location of Chinese individual quantifiers and the overlap of individual quantifiers),and the collocation of Chinese individual quantifiers and nouns.The third part is the study of individual classifiers in Thai.It mainly examines the concept of individual classifiers in Thai,the types of individual classifiers in Thai,the usage of individual classifiers in Thai(the location of individual classifiers in Thai and the overlap of individual classifiers),and the collocation of individual classifiers and nouns in Thai.The fourth part is a summary of the similarities and differences of individual classifiers in Chinese and Thai.
