The Research On Construction Grammar Of �The Volitive Auxiliary+X₁ More Y₁ Than X₂ More Y₂�

As a kind of contractive sentence pattern,"the volitive auxiliary+X₁ more Y₁ than X₂more Y₂"is more and more on line with people's psychological identity and is widely accepted and used.The theory of constructive grammar has become one of the hotspots in the field of international linguistics.This paper holds that it has a strong adaptability to"the volitive auxiliary+X₁ more Y₁ than X₂ more Y₂".However,there are few special studies on this sentence pattern in China.This paper will explore the process of component integration and the causes of polysemy of this sentence pattern by using constructional grammar as a theoretical framework,and then explore the motivation and mechanism of the formation of this sentence pattern."the volitive auxiliary+X₁ more Y₁ than X₂ more Y₂"mainly acts as predicate,object,attributive and complement or independent clause,generally expressing"the speaker encourages or affirms his behavior on the premise of knowing or speculating the subjective will of the subject of the action",and has certain productivity.Constant"the volitive auxiliary"in the construction mainly include"energy,thought and want",indicating the will to send out actions,"on"denotes logical and semantic relevance,and"more than"belongs to the degree of adverbial list.The variables X₁ and X₂ are predicate verbs,Y₁ and Y₂ are adjectives,X and Y are homomorphic in most cases,but there are differences in a few cases.The construction analyzed in this paper is ambiguous,and it is also an important part of the construction analysis.Starting from the construction analysis,this paper will analyze the ambiguity of the expected action when it reaches the extreme value,the subjective arbitrariness of the action and the combination meaning of"more or less"in the special case by means of the principle of semantic orientation,presupposition and focus theory.Finally,through the principles of linguistic economy,saliency and subjectivity of cognitive linguistics,the motivation of the formation of"the volitive auxiliary+X₁ more Y₁than X₂ more Y₂"is analyzed;at the same time,the mechanism of its induction is analyzed by using iconicity,metaphorical conditions and social environment.
