As economic globalization deepens and people's living standard improves, the number of outbound tourists from China has increased in recent years, many foreign hotels regard Chinese outbound tourists as the target group of their marketing activities and launch Chinese hotel websites. The E-C translation of foreign resort hotel websites becomes more and more important. This practice report, based on the author's E-C translation practice of JA Resorts& Hotels website, analyzes the translation problems the author has encountered in the practice, which mainly include the translation of proper nouns;titles, noun phrases and imperative sentences with vocative function;as well as complex and passive sentences.Specifically,(1)transliteration or literal translation alone of proper nouns fails to convey implicit cultural information to readers, including names of religious festivals, names of historical sites and occupation names;(2)literal translation of titles, noun phrases and imperative sentences which have characteristics of advertising, lacks appeal to readers;(3)literal translation of complex sentences with modifiers and passive sentences fails to achieve coherence and fluency between sentences.According to Peter Newmark's text typology theory, the hotel website text is a combination of informative and vocative texts, and communicative translation should be applied to achieve the communicative effect as much as possible in translation. Therefore, three major translation methods of free translation, annotation and recreation can be adopted to solve the above-mentioned problems. The tentative findings of this practice report are expected to provide enlightenment to hotel website translation or even the translation of other websites.
