Research On The Historical Value And Contemporary Enlightenment Of University Anthem During The War Of Resistance Against Japan

In 2012,the Ministry of Education issued 30 articles on higher education,which proposed “adhering to the tradition of running schools,condensing the concept of running schools,determining the school mottos and school songs,forming excellent school spirit,teaching style and learning style,and cultivating university spirit”,it can be seen that the construction of university anthem is the key to cultivating university spirit.General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized in the report of the 19 th National Congress that “accelerating the construction of World-Class University and World-Class Discipline and realizing the connotative development of higher education”,realizing connotative development is the era character of higher education,and the cultivation of university spirit is an important part of the blueprint for the connotative development of higher education.Although the attention of the community to the university spirit has increased,the current situation of college spirit cultivation in China is not satisfactory,General Secretary Xi Jinping's proposition of carrying forward traditional culture inspired the author to explore the university spirit of our country during the War of Resistance Against Japan.The purpose of this study is to reveal the historical value of university anthem during the War of Resistance Against Japan from the perspective of spiritual connotation,so as to enlighten the construction of university anthem and the cultivation of university spirit in China.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part analyzes the archives,recollections,diaries,newspapers and other historical materials of wartime universities,and draws an overview of the wartime university anthem.Based on the analysis of the wartime environment and the setting up background of the university anthem,it can be seen that the number of universities in China developed tortuously during the wartime because of the Japanese imperialist aggression against China.Then,the 69 wartime university anthem were sorted out,and the establishment status of university anthem was concluded.The second part uses Nvivo software to conduct a qualitative analysis of the wartime university anthem,shaping the spiritual connotation of the wartime university anthem.Based on the literature method,historical data were collected and analyzed by content analysis method.Qualitative analysis software Nvivo was used to encode the lyrics of the four types of wartime university anthem word by word,create nodes,and then create a model to analyze the similarities and differences of the spiritual connotations of the four types university anthem.The commonality of the spiritual connotations of the wartime university anthem reveals the wartime university spirit,while the personality reveals the characteristic development of the wartime universities.The commonality of the spiritual connotation for the wartime university anthem is to stick to the function and devote to education,to build the country with the national mission,to love the school and develop vigorously,to unite the people as one,to firm desire for victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan.In the wartime,the university anthem with their own characteristics were also born.The university spirit of the public university anthem is reflected in the national and ethnic levels;Private universities adhere to the construction of characteristic disciplines,and clearly show their “ace” disciplines in the university anthem;The university anthem of missionary universities has broader international vision and stronger desire for international cooperation,but there is also a vision for the Chinese nation stand among the nations of the world.The lyrics of the university anthem in the anti-Japanese revolutionary base areas are all in vernacular form,they are the most straightforward and most passionate among the four types university anthem.The third part uses case analysis method to select a highly influential or distinctive university in each of the four types of universities,and to deeply interpret its university anthem,reflecting the personality of university anthem's spirit connotation.The anthem of Southwest United University is selected from public universities,the anthem of Wuxi Academy of the Traditional Chinese Culture is selected from the private universities,the anthem of Nanking University is selected from missionary universities,the anthem of the Chinese People's Anti-Japanese Military and Political University is selected from anti-Japanese revolutionary base areas universities.To deeply interpret its university anthem,understanding the spiritual connotation of four wartime university anthem.The fourth part is the historical value and contemporary enlightenment of wartime university anthem.The wartime university anthem have the functions of moral education,aesthetic education,intellectual education,the wartime university anthem have the function of propaganda and education,the wartime university anthem have the function showing and maintaining the wartime university spirit,wartime university anthem were full of flowers and featured prominently.Nowadays,there is a lot of room for the optimization on university anthem in our country.It is necessary for us to observe the wartime university anthem,especially the highlights of the spiritual connotation of university anthem,the inheritance and reference of the historical tradition of university anthem is an important channel.Nowadays,universities should regard the university anthem as the important carrier of university spirit cultivation,university anthem should adapt to the development of the times,taking university anthem as spiritual songs for the characteristic development.
