Social exclusion refers to the phenomenon and process in which a person's need for belonging and relationship is impeded due to being excluded by a social group or others. It is suggested that Social exclusion had a negative impact on cognition, emotion and behavior, such as causing negative emotions, reducing positive emotions and self-esteem.What's more, people who be excluded may reduce willingness to help and show aggressive acts. However,it is one of the most basic and universal needs for people to belong to a social group and to form a positive, stable and lasting social relationship with others.People who are excluded by other group members might make some extreme progroup behaviors to express their loyalty and value to the group. They even make sacrifices or sacrifices for the group.Exploring the influence of social exclusion on pro-group behavior is of great practical significance to the study of individual and group interaction patterns and behavioral coping strategies,as well as the formulation of regulations of organizations. Therefore,we should devote more work to explore the influence mechanism behind it.According to the results of previous studies, the effect of social exclusion on progroup behavior was related to two motives of individuals: promotion focus and prevention focus.Power is a basic component of the group structure.People who be excluded with promotion focus tend to improve their situation by acting extreme behaviors that are beneficial to the group;Individuals who taking prevention focus are more likely to perform avoidance tendency and reduce the interaction with the group. And the level of power is related to the activation of these two kinds of motivation. It can be seen that individual differences in the level of power are a non-negligible factor affecting individual pro-group behavior. Therefore, this study explores the moderating effect of a sense of power on the relationship between social exclusion and pro-group behavior.Study 1 used the social exclusion scale and pro-group behavior scale to explore the relationship between social exclusion perception and pro-group behavior. In study 2 the relationship between social exclusion and pro-group behavior was explored by manipulating social exclusion.Meanwhile, the moderating effect of power was further explored by measuring the level of trait power perception of subjects. Also study 3 manipulated the sense of power to verify the moderating effect of personal sense of power on the relationship between social exclusion and pro-group behavior.Based on the above studies,we got the following results :(1)there is a significant positive correlation between social exclusion perception and pro-group behavior;(2)the trait power and the personal power by manipulated in laboratory situation both has a significant moderated the relationship between the social exclusion and pro-group behavior;(3)the participants with high power exhibited more pro-group behavior when suffered from social exclusion than those with low power. For the participants who are included by their group, the level of power has no effect on pro-group behavior.
