The English classroom education in junior high school should be adapted to new requirements put forward under the basic education curriculum reform.English curriculum standards for compulsory education(2011)clearly states: “English curriculum reform focuses on changing the tendency of current English class teaching which puts too much emphasis on passing on and explaining grammatical and lexical knowledge,while ignoring the cultivation of students' practical language application ability.It emphasizes that all courses should be based on students' interests,life experiences and cognitive level,advocating the task-based teaching approach and the learning of experience,practice,participation,cooperation and communication,as well as developing students' comprehensive language application competence.” Based on this,in the exploration of junior high school English classroom teaching strategies,the learning plan assisted teaching and learning model has been widely used.However,in some rural areas,the learning-plan assisted teaching and learning model has not been recognized or applied by schools and teachers.The author investigated five township middle schools in Linqing and found that these schools are still using traditional teaching methods.Based on this,the author took Linqing Pijie middle school as an example to conduct a teaching experiment on the students in two classes of grade two,and explored the practicability and teaching effect of the learning-plan assisted teaching and learning model in English classroom teaching.It is expected to provide some suggestions for the English curriculum reform of township middle schools.The research focuses on three questions.Firstly,does the learning-plan assisted teaching and learning model have any influence on students' learning interest and habits? Secondly,can the learning-plan assisted teaching and learning model help students improve their English learning? Thirdly,how do students evaluate the learning plan assisted teaching and learning model ? The methods of literature review and experiment were adopted.The experiment lasted for one semester.A Pre-test,a post-test,a questionnaire and an interview were carried out on the research objects,and the data were analyzed by SPSS21.0.The following conclusions are drawn from the research.In English classroom teaching,the learning-plan assisted teaching and learning model can improve students' interest in learning,cultivate their ability of independent and cooperative learning,and help teachers improve classroom efficiency.Based on the result analysis,this paper gives some suggestions for English classroom teaching in township middle schools.(1)It is urgent for teachers to change teaching concept and establish student-centered teaching consciousness,so as to improve students' self-learning consciousness,cultivate their learning interest and improve classroom teaching effect by guiding students in class.(2)Educational authority should carry on teacher training programmes and introduce new patterns and thoughts.Through all these efforts,we can achieve the optimal effect of education.There are also some deficiencies in the research.Due to the small scale of township middle schools,the two classes selected are small and the research time is not long enough.Therefore,the representativeness of this study is not enough.
