In recent years,the political and economic exchanges between China and Hungary are friendly,and the Chinese teaching in Hungary is also booming.In addition to the Confucius Institute,there are also many universities that offer Chinese departments,including Eotvos Lorand University in Budapest and Pazmany Peter Catholic University.With the development of teaching,the situation that learners' demotivation to learn Chinese also attracts the attention of Chinese teachers and researchers.However,there are few studies on Hungarian Chinese learners from the perspective of demotivation.Taking the undergraduate students of Chinese Department of Roland University and Pazmany Peter Catholic University as examples,this paper makes an investigation and analysis of the influencing factors of the demotivation of Hungarian college Chinese learners,hoping to provide some suggestions for solving the demotivation and promoting the Chinese teaching and promotion in Hungary.The research methods used in this paper include questionnaire and interview.It is found that among the factors of teachers,learners and environment,the factors of learners and environment have great influence on the demotivation of learners.Learners' factors include self-confidence decline,lack of interest in learning and negative attitude.Environmental factors include the lack of language environment,teaching management,textbooks and teaching facilities.This paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter mainly describes the origin,research content and significance of the research.The second chapter expounds the current research results from two directions at home and abroad:demotivation of second language learning and demotivation of Chinese as a second language learning.It also finds the remaining problems in the previous research.The third chapter introduces the research design:including the research object,questionnaire design and implementation and student interview design and implementation.The fourth chapter analyzes the data of the questionnaire,and discusses the results of the interview.The fifth chapter summarizes the research conclusion,expounds the enlightenment to teaching according to the research results,and points out the shortcomings and limitations of the research.
