Figure interpreting has always been a difficult and important point both in the academic research and in the practices. The predecessors also have had a lot of discussion on how to improve the accuracy of figure interpreting. This article takes the mock conference of the Dominican Investment and Economics Forum as an example to discuss the mentioned issue in Spanish-Chinese consecutive interpretation.First of all, taking into account of previous researches' theories and her own practice, the author sums up the difficulties in figure interpreting(low predictability, different division system of Chinese and Spanish numbers, low redundancy, and the importance of context-related information).Secondly, problems of improper figure interpreting in the mock conference are divided into three categories(wrong translation, omission, improper context translation),and the cause of each problem is analyzed in detail. Finally, this article combines the Gile's effort distribution model to discuss the improvement strategies in lights of three phases, listening and analysis,notes-taking and production.
