Emotional adaptation refers to an individual's subjective experience of stress in a certain environment or situation. The individual experiences more positive emotions and less negative emotions through the active regulation and self-control of the situation and emotional relationship.Since college students need to face various new and unfamiliar environments and complete social and academic tasks, their emotions are obviously volatile and situational, and they are easily troubled by negative emotions, causing emotional maladjustment, thus affecting their study and life.As a major source of support for college students, classmates and friends at school are important protective factors to help college students adapt to unfavorable situations. From the perspective of support sources, peer support can be divided into familiar peers and unfamiliar peers. From the perspective of support types,it can be divided into emotional support, tool support and information support. From the perspective of support form,it can be divided into visible support and invisible support.Emotion regulation self-efficacy is a degree of self-confidence that individuals can effectively regulate their emotional state.Previous researches on peer support and emotional adaptation are mostly questionnaire surveys, and it is difficult to clarify the causal relationship between the two. There is also a lack of research on the optimal matching between the components of peer support and college students' emotional adaptation. What is the mechanism of peer support on college students' emotional adaptation? To explore these problems, this study adopts the methods of experiment and questionnaire to explore the effect of peer support on college students' emotional adaptation and its mechanism.Study 1: A total of 480 college students from a university in Henan province were selected, and the experiment method was used to control the topic of the speech through the speech task,to induce the negative emotions of college students under moderate pressure.2(source of peer support: familiar peers, unfamiliar peers)×2(type of peer support: information support,Emotional support)×2(peer support form: visible support, invisible support)is a three-factor completely random experimental design, which tests the causal relationship between peer support and college students' emotional adaptation, and explores the optimal match between the source, type and form of peer support and college students' emotional adaptation under moderate pressure.Study 2: A total of 720 college students from two universities in Henan province were selected and the mediating effect of emotion regulation self-efficacy between peer support and emotional adaptation of college students was further explored by questionnaire method based on Study 1.Results:1.Compared with the control group without peer support and unfamiliar peer support, the subjects in the familiar peer support group and the experimental group had significantly lower negative emotion scores after peer support and before support. The negative emotion difference between subjects receiving invisible support and visible support was significantly higher than that of non-support control group, while the negative emotion difference between subjects receiving information support and emotional support was significantly higher than that of non-support control group. The difference of negative emotions in the familiar peer support group was significantly higher than that in the unfamiliar peer support group and the non-support control group. The difference of negative emotions in the unfamiliar peer support group was significantly higher than that in the non-support groups.2.When peers provide information support, the relief of negative emotions in the form of invisible support is significantly higher than that of visible support. When familiar with peer support, the relief of negative emotions in the form of invisible support was significantly higher than that of visible support.3.The status of college students' emotional adaptation is in a moderate to high degree. There are significant differences in gender, new old students and left-behind experience.Female students' emotional adaptation score is significantly higher than that of male students, old students' emotional adaptation score is significantly higher than that of freshmen, and students without left-behind experience score is significantly higher than that of students with left-behind experience.4.Peer support has a significant positive predictive effect on college students' emotional adaptation;Peer support exerts a significant positive predictive effect on college students' emotion regulation self-efficacy.Self-efficacy of emotional regulation has a significant positive predictive effect on college students' emotional adaptation.Emotion regulation self-efficacy plays a partial mediating role between peer support and emotional adaptation of college students.Hence,in the medium pressure speech task situation, the best match between the source, type and form of peer support and college students' emotional adaptation is invisible information support and familiar peer invisible support.Emotional adjustment self-efficacy plays a part in mediating between peer support and college students' emotional adaptation.
