The integrity and accuracy of the information is an important criteria for judging the quality of consecutive interpretation. However, when the interpreter is affected by external factors, such as noisy environment, equipment trouble,or internal factors, for example the imbalance of energy distribution and language deficiencies, insufficient interpreting sometimes occurs, causing the audience to understand insufficiently even misunderstand the original text, which may lead to serious consequences. Therefore, reducing insufficient interpreting and ensuring the completeness of the information is the objective that all interpreters should pursue. This thesis takes the author's interpreting experience on mock conference of the third edition of Chinese-French Family Development Workshop as a case study.By comparing the translated language with original, the author summarizes three reasons for the information loss in this experience, namely, the imbalance of energy distribution, insufficient preparation before interpretation and the lack of language ability, and from the angle of language competence, energy distribution,preparation,short-term memory, attempts to propose correlative strategies to solve the problem.Through the study of the problem of insufficient interpreting, the author hopes to overcome the shortcomings in interpretation,to avoid the missing information as much as possible and to improve the quality of the translated language.
