With the introduction and development of the “Belt and Road” initiative,China 's status in the world has significantly increased,and Chinese has become more and more popular.As a key node of the “ Belt and Road” initiative,Azerbaijan 's “Chinese fever” has been heating up.At present,Azerbaijan has opened two Confucius Institutes: the Confucius Institute at the Baku State University and the Confucius Institute at the Language University.The number of Chinese learners has increased.The Confucius Institute at Baku State University has the longest history,the largest number of students,and the largest Confucius Institute in Azerbaijan,so it is of great research value.Because the writer was an volunteers Chines teacher in Confucius Institute at Baku State University.So this article uses the Confucius Institute as an example to investigate the current status of Chinese teaching,with the questionnaire survey method and interview method.The main content includes the history of Chinese teaching,the "three teachings" problem,the problem of Chinese learners,and the operation and management of the Confucius Institute,which can supplement Azerbaijan Chinese teaching materials and contribute to the study of Chinese in different countries.This article takes the Confucius Institute at Baku State University as the main research object,and the article is mainly divided into eight parts.The first part is the introduction,the main contents are the research purpose and significance,the research history in China and abroad,the research content and research methods.The second part mainly introduces Azerbaijan's national conditions and the history of Chinese teaching in Azerbaijan,especially the scale and speed of Chinese development after the “ Belt and Road ”Initiative.The third part,fourth part and fifth part study the "three teachings" of the Confucius Institute at Baku State University,which are the study of Chinese teachers,the study of Chinese teaching books and teaching materials,and the study of Chinese teaching methods.And raise the existing problems,and give reasonable suggestions and solutions.The sixth part is a survey of Chinese learners at the Confucius Institute of Baku State University,investigating students' learningmotivations,reasons for giving up learning Chinese,and requirements for Chinese teachers,and giving reasonable opinions.The seventh part is the research on the operation and management of the Confucius Institute at Baku State University.It points out the problems existing in the management of Chinese teachers and learners by the Confucius Institute,as well as the problems of the relationship between the Confucius Institute with other Confucius Institutes and foreigners,and gives suggestions.The eighth part is conclusion,including the thinking and prospect of Chinese teaching in Azerbaijan.It analyzes the gap between Chinese and other foreign languages and the employment status of the graduates majored Chinese language.It is concluded that although the development of Chinese in Azerbaijan is not perfect,the future is expected.And point the deficiencies of the thesis.
