There are "exact quantity"and '"approximate quantity" in Chinese and English,"confirmed amount" means a precise amount,and "approximate amount" means a blurred amount.And the "dayue" category discussed in this paper belongs to the approximate quantity.Since the expression and use of "approximate quantity" in English is not as complicated as in Chinese,foreign students will have a lot of errors when using the expression of Chinese approximate quantity.The full text is divided into six parts.The first part mainly introduces the reasons for selection of the article,the research results of Chinese and English quantity,and the significance,the research methods,the source of corpus,and the writing ideas.Two to four chapters are ontology research.Using contrastive techniques,we study the grammatical function,semantics and pragmatics of approximate quantity in Chinese and English.The second chapter is a comparative analysis of the functions of Chinese-English approximate quantity and their constituent phrases.The third chapter is a comparative analysis of the semantics of Chinese and English approximate quantity,and their similarities and differences are analyzed from the perspective of the development of word meaning and the vague meaning of Chinese and English quantity.Chapter four analyzes their tables from the perspective of pragmatics.The three angles of perspective,pragmatic tendency and style color are studied to find their commonness and differences.The fifth chapter,from the perspective of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and supported by two to four chapters,analyzes the types and causes of errors cause by the use of "dayue" words by foreign students.Finally,specific teaching suggestions are put forward for this kind of problems.Chapter six summarizes the full text and puts forward the shortcomings of this paper.
