A Practice Report On Interpreting The Release Conferences For New Routers By Ericsson

The material of the simulative consecutive interpreting is from the release conferences for new products by Ericsson company,which introduced and promoted the latest 6000 router series.Ericsson,as one of the world’s largest mobile system producers,supplies equipment and services to all major mobile communication providers in the world,with 40% of global mobile calls made on Ericsson’s system.Under the guidance of Interpretive Theory and the loyalty rule of Skopostheoir,this report addresses the problems encountered in the process of interpretation and puts forward appropriate interpreting strategies.The interpreter categorizes the problems into three aspects: words,information segments and sentences.The strategies of words transformation and addition and deletion of conjunction words are adopted for the words processing,the strategies of omission and addition for redundant and incomplete information processing,and the strategies of information splitting,sentence reconstruction and logical word order adjustment for long and difficult sentences.Through this interpretation practice,the interpreter realizes the necessity of preparation before interpretation,and the importance of flexibility in the practice of interpretation and gives some hints about the non-native speakers.Finally,the interpreter hopes that the report can bring some references and inspirations to other interpretation learners.
