Macro Archaeological Study Of Hejin Kiln In Shanxi

During the Song and Jin Dynasties,the ceramic handicraft industry prospered in terms of utensil types,production technology,trade exchanges and other aspects,representing a new height of ancient Chinese ceramic development.Shanxi Hejin kiln came into being and became a leader of the porcelain making industry in Jinnan area by learning from other kilns' technology and carrying out independent innovation.Based on the products of Hejin kiln site,some unearthed sites outside the kiln site and some public and private collections of Hejin kiln at home and abroad,this paper makes a preliminary discussion on the overall characteristics and connotation of Hejin kiln from the aspects of temporal and spatial distribution,product characteristics and spreading situation,and reasons for development of Hejin kiln.This paper consists of the following five parts:?.Introduction.Firstly,this chapter introduces the background and significance of this topic,then reviews the related research situation of Hejin kiln,and finally clarifies the research thoughts and methods of this paper.?.Research on the overall characteristics of Hejin kiln site.According to the literature records and the research results of scholars,the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of Hejin kiln are clarified,and it is found that Hejin kiln is located beside the mountains and water,and its production conditions are superior.Through the typological analysis of the materials unearthed in Hejin Guzhen kiln site,the typical characteristics of Hejin kiln products in terms of body and glaze,modeling,decoration technique,decorative patterns,fabrication process,loading and firing process are combed to provide clues for subsequent product research.?.Research on Hejin kiln products outside the kiln site.According to the product characteristics of the kiln site,the products of some unearthed sites outside the kiln site and some public and private collections of Hejin kiln at home and abroad are selected for typological analysis,and the characteristics of ceramic pillows and other products outside the kiln site are respectively summarized.Through the concrete analysis,it is found that the ceramic pillow is the most distinctive product of Hejin kiln.Its modeling features,decoration technique and decorative patterns are more abundant than other products,which represent the level of Hejin kiln porcelain.?.Product characteristics and spreading situation of Hejin kiln.According to relevant literature and archaeological materials,this chapter compares the products of Hejin kiln with other kilns in neighboring regions,such as Jiexiu kiln in Shanxi,Dangyangyu kiln in Henan,Cizhou kiln in Hebei,Yaozhou kiln in Shaanxi.The relationships between Hejin kiln and the above kiln sites enrich the summary of the product characteristics of Hejin kiln.On the basis of the above work,this chapter analyzes the distribution location and output appearance of Hejin kiln products,and preliminarily masters the range of product distribution of Hejin kiln,that is,Jinnan area and neighboring Shaanxi and Henan areas.In addition,through the discussion of the reasons for development of Hejin kiln,it can be found that superior natural conditions and development environment of the times are favorable factors that promote the prosperity of Hejin kiln.?.Conclusion.This part summarizes the whole article and discusses some issues further.
