the positive response in modern Chinese is very common in verbal communication.Respondents can use different positive responses to express their understanding and acceptance of what the speaker says.In the study of modern Chinese positive response, scholars focus on the categories of modern Chinese positive response, but fail to closely associate the trigger language with the responses. Therefore, this paper intends to study the positive response modes under different types of the trigger language, and try to find out the preference of each type of interrogative sentence, imperative sentence and declarative sentence to the positive response modes in modern Chinese. In order to make the research more feasible and systematic, the scope of this paper is limited to the positive response in the adjacent double-part,and the content of these two rounds is relatively complete. This paper is divided into four chapters:The introduction is mainly to sort out the research results of predecessors. On the basis of absorbing their research results, the author finds out the unstudied and insufficient areas of predecessors,so as to develop his own research ideas. The chapter 1 mainly investigates the three types of the trigger language of affirmative reply, namely, interrogative, imperative and declarative sentences. The interrogative sentences of affirmative reply include yes-no interrogative, positive and negative,"how" interrogative, rhetorical and tag questions. In addition, the paper analyzes and discusses the expression forms and functions of the three types of the trigger language,so as to preliminarily determine the preference of the three types of the trigger language for positive responses. The chapter 2 mainly summarizes and explains the direct affirmative response, indirect affirmative response and non-verbal affirmative response induced by right and wrong questions, positive and negative questions,"how" questions, rhetorical questions and tag questions, and tries to explain the preference of these five types of question sentence to the positive response.Chapter 3 mainly summarizes and explains the direct positive response, indirect positive response and non-verbal positive response induced by imperative sentence, prohibition sentence, suggestion sentence and dissuasion sentence, request sentence and begging sentence, and tries to explain the preference of these "three types and six types" of imperative sentence to the positive response. The chapter 4 mainly summarizes and explains the direct positive response, indirect positive response and non-verbal positive response induced by declarative sentences, and tries to explain the selection tendency of declarative sentences to positive response. The last part is the conclusion of this paper, which mainly expounds the overall understanding of the positive response modes under the three types of the trigger language, and finally draws a conclusion.
