Land Reclamation Of Barkol In Emperor Kangxi And Qianlong

Barkol,located in the northeast of Xinjiang,has been the important northern fotress Leading to Xinjiang,since the Qing Dynasty,which has played an important role in the history of northwest.First of all,this thesis briefly explains the geographical environment,natural conditions and historical evolution of Barkol and states that ancient dynasties how to develop and manage Barkol.Next,in the second chapter describes that when the Qing Dynasty calming down the Junggar and Kokand riot,the west-route army stationed troops to open up wasteland in Barkol,also discussed the role of it in the process of three times into the Western Regions.The third chapter focuses on that when Qianlong stabilized the country by force,the Qing Dynasty placed special emphasis on encouraging civilian to settle and reclaim wasteland in the Barkol area,including station troops to open up wasteland,immigrants reclamation,criminals reclamation;merchants reclamation and Uygur reclamation etc,and why the station troops to open up wasteland went to collapse,instead of the immigrants reclamation increasingly thriving and flourishing.The last chapter is about that the development of Barkol in the political,economy and cultural in this period of time,with a view to highlight the essential functions about land reclamation of Barkol while the Qing Dynasty unified the north and south of Mt.Tianshan.The following sections detail we can lesson what from Land Reclamation of the Qing Dynasty,so that we can rapidly burgeon the land reclamation project of Xinjiang at a determined pace in modern times,constructe the development strategy that the national relation is united and harmonious and economy and ecological civilization complement each other.Through the discussion of the above chapters,the purpose of this paper is to illustrate that Barkol was the key point of carrying out military operations and reclaim wasteland in Xinjiang by the west-route army.It was a long-term policy that garrison in the northwest borderlands,resist foreign aggression and land reclamation to accumulate grain.In the early of Qing Dynasty land reclamation of Barkol had a great role in promoting,to the Qing Dynasty unified Xinjiang,to improve the security of northwestern,to safeguard the unified multi-ethnic country and to develop the economic and cultural education of Xinjiang.Immigration reclamation of Barkol was also beneficial to the development of national amalgamation and ethnic integration in the frontier areas.
