This report aims to explore the syntactic characteristics of postpositive attributives and the corresponding translation methods in the process of translating business English texts into Chinese. The text selected in the practice report is Contract Lifecycle Management(excerpt),which belongs to the category of business English, with rigorous style, numerous business terms and complicated sentence structure. Moreover, the frequent use of postpositive attributives in the text makes translation difficult. Therefore, based on Eugene Nida's Functional Equivalence Theory, this report focuses on the translation methods of postpositive attributives. There is no equivalent unit for the form and meaning of English postpositive attributive in Chinese. Therefore,in order to distinguish their communicative ideas and ideographic functions from grammatical structures, this report, guided by Functional Equivalence Theory, adopts the translation methods of preposition, division, conversion, fusion and synthesis,so as to get rid of the shackles of English and Chinese in syntactic structures, make the translation conform to Chinese writing norms, and maximize the functional equivalence between the target text and the source text.Through the writing of this translation practice report, the author has a more in-depth understanding of the translation of business texts and postpositive attributives, hoping to provide reference for the translation work in related fields.
