From September 20 to October 10,2019,the author served as an English consecutive interpreter in the "Seminar on Urban Construction and Urban-Rural Development" jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission.This report reviews the author 's consecutive interpretation practice,using the "Understanding,Memory,Expression,Emergence Response"(UMEER)practical framework proposed by Li Changshuan to analyze interpretation performance,reflect on problems in interpretation,and propose solutions based on the four dimensions of the UMEER frameworkChapter 1 of this report introduces the background of this interpretation task.Chapter 2 introduces pre-translation preparation,including finding parallel texts before translation,expanding background knowledge,making glossaries,and preparing psychologically,and describes the main situation of classroom interpretation tasks.In Chapter 3,the author briefly explains the definition of the UMEER framework,and through several examples of interpretation,analyzed the problems and improvements in the interpretation task under the UMEER framework.The fourth chapter reflects the interpreting practice,summarizes the core issues in the practice,reflects on the role of UMEER framework in interpretation,and puts forward relevant suggestions for interpreting teaching.The report finally sorted out a glossary,and hopes to provide assistance to interns who will participate in the Belt and Road project seminars in the future.
