Study Of Hospital Signage System Based On Gestalt Psychology

Medical space is one of the places where the most wayfinding behavior occurs.The signage system plays an important role in the complex medical space.As a carrier of environmental information,it is an important part of helping patients find their way in hospitals.However,the existing signage system still has problems such as low effectiveness,unclear indication,and insufficient continuity in the actual path finding of the patient,which causes the way-finder to find the road and the health care worker is frequently asked.This paper introduces the cognitive law of Gestalt psychology,studies the wayfinding behavior and characteristics of way-finders in medical space,and explores the relationship between visual perception and wayfinding decision-making.By tracking the patient's wayfinding behavior in the hospital,interviewing the wayfinding patients and designing behavioral experiments,we found that the signage system that conforms to the Gestalt approach principle,similarity principle and continuous principle can improve the path-finding performance and help the way-finder.Get information faster and make wayfinding decisions in spatial cognition.In addition,based on the research,the design strategy of the Gestalt hospital signage system was further proposed.The design of the hospital signage system should conform to the visual organization of the format tower in both the design elements of the visual presentation layer and the location setting of the environmental space layer.At the same time,the medical space signage system should also carry out the overall design,simplified design and process design from the perspective of the gestalt space cognition law,which makes it more in line with the patient's wayfinding characteristics in the space.Finally,according to the design strategy,the actual medical space signage system is designed and applied.
