The English comprehensive practical activity curriculum is the main component of the middle school comprehensive practical activity curriculum,which is helpful to broaden the way students practice English and improve the quality of English teaching in rural middle schools.However,there are still many problems with the development,implementation and evaluation of the curriculum development of English comprehensive practice activities.Therefore,the action research on the development of English comprehensive practical activity curriculum for rural junior middle school has certain theoretical and practical significance for implementing the English comprehensive practical activity curriculum in rural areas and improving the teaching quality of English curriculum in rural middle schools.First,this paper sorts out the relevant literature and clarifies the development history and current situation of English comprehensive practical activity curriculum.Secondly,this paper explores the theoretical basis,teaching principles,and teaching content of the course development of comprehensive English practice activities,and determines the theoretical model of curriculum development.Then,according to the “Taylor Curriculum Theory” course development steps,this paper designs the action research plan of the rural junior middle school English comprehensive practical activity curriculum,and selects the first class of the seventh grade of XY Junior High School as the research object to conduct action research on the development of English comprehensive practical activity curriculum.Finally,based on the theoretical discussion and implementation process,this paper evaluates the implementation effect of English comprehensive practical activity curriculum,as well as the problems and deficiencies in the courses.Some achievements have been made in the action research of this curriculum development.By participating in the teaching of English comprehensive practice curriculum,the English performance of most rural students has been improved,and a correct and positive learning attitude has been established.In the process of teaching practice,students develop the learning behavior of active thinking and self-reflection.At the same time,through the exchange of questions between teachers and students,students' cooperative communication skills are improved.There are also problems and deficiencies in the research.Due to the lack of curriculum experience,teachers' curriculum guidance ability is insufficient.During the process of problem exploration,students' subject awareness is weak,and their ability to learn independently still needs to be improved.In response to problems of action research,the author puts forward three suggestions for optimization: one is to form a diversified teacher team in rural areas to improve the quality of teacher training;the second is to give teachers more autonomy in the curriculum and protect the status of teacher curriculum developers.The third is to set up a learning environment conducive to the development of students' subjective consciousness,and promote the formation of students' independent inquiry behavior.
