R-coloured words teaching,as a difficult part of foreign language teaching,is not only hard to understand,but also needs teaching from the perspective of phonetics.It is easy to neglect the meaning teaching which brings poor teaching effect.There has been research on R-coloured words in textbooks and concern about biased errors when foreign students speak R-coloured words.This paper analyzes the teaching syllabus of foreign language teaching,and makes a comprehensive investigation on the usage of R-coloured words which are required to be read by foreign students.A list suitable for teaching Chinese as a foreign is made,and some teaching suggestions are put forward for foreign students to learn Chinese R-coloured words as well.There are seven chapters in this article:Chapter ?:Introduction.The main origin and significance of the study are presented.It summarizes the current research status of R-coloured words from the perspective of ontology and teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Then the research ideas and methods are explained.Chapter ?:The definition of must read R-coloured words.It discusses the definition and functions of must read R-coloured words from ontology.The phonetic and writing specifications are described.Chapter ?:Analysis of the usage of must read R-coloured words for foreign students.Some problems exist like there's not a strong correspondence between the syllabus and the test by the comparison between "Chinese Vocabulary and Chinese Characters Degree Syllabus" or "New HSK Outline" and the R-coloured words in new HSK test.In the following part,the paper mainly studies the R-coloured words in three sets of common TCSL textbooks and analyzes the distribution of the outline and the statistics of the R-coloured words in the junior high school textbooks.Chapter ?:Investigation and analysis of the usage of must read R-coloured Words for foreign students.This thesis reviews the R-coloured words learning of these foreign students by questionnaire based on the writing corpus by junior high-level school students from College of International Cultural Exchange,Central China Normal University and the third chapter research results.It founds that junior high-level school foreign students are easily confused by the phonetic forms of R-coloured words and Non-R-coloured words,who also can't handle the different meanings well.Chapter ?:Formulation of the must read R-coloured word list.Based on the previous research and survey results,this paper puts forward the appropriate formulation principles and classification standards for word lists and then makes the word lists.Chapter ?:Teaching suggestions for must read R-coloured words.The paper aims to standardize vocabulary in the syllabus,the new HSK test and the required words in the textbook.The suggestions are propounded from many fields including Classification,comparative analysis,contact with reality,diverse forms,etc.Chapter ?:Conclusion.Summarize the survey results and viewpoints,and reflect on the shortcomings.
