The Kunqu Opera "Blood Hands",based on the Shakespeare tragedy "Macbeth",is a successful cross-cultural adaptation of Chinese opera to Western drama.From the first rehearsal of the "First Chinese Shakespeare Theatre Festival" in 1986 to the start of the exchange between Shakespeare and Kunqu Opera,to the 30 th anniversary of the establishment of the Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe give the connotation of the new era of "Blood Hands" in 2008.With the development of the times,the cross-cultural adaptation of opera has also taken on a new look.But at present,the academic research on the 2008 version of "Blood Hands" is still very limited,this paper attempts to start from a development perspective,And through the comparative analysis of the two versions of the opera texts and stage presentations in 1986 and 2008.we explore the development and changes of the Kunqu opera adaptation of Shakespeare,and It also explored ways to revitalize and seek modernization of Chinese opera,broaden some perspectives for the study of the cross-cultural adaptation of Chinese opera,and contribute to the development of Chinese opera.This article is divided into three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction is divided into three sections: research significance,research review,research content and methods.The first section first introduces the research object "Blood Hands" and the significance of the research object.The second section summarizes the research topic of the "Cross-Cultural Shakespearean Cross-cultural Adaptation" and the main research object of this thesis "Blood Hands",and on this basis,the problems that can be further explored on the basis of existing research are clarified.The third section briefly summarizes and sorts out the specific content and methods of this thesis.The main part of the body mainly uses the method of text reading and comparative analysis,and from the three aspects of the drama text,stage and cultural differences,the two editions of "Blood Hands" to the original book "Macbeth" are discussed and the differences presented.The first chapter mainly discusses the adaptation of drama text,analyze the differences between the 1986 version and the 2008 version of "Blood Hands" in terms of frame and content,and from the perspective of "witch" and "humanity,truth,goodness and beauty",explore the view that transformation of the original theme connotation brought about by this difference.The second chapter mainly discusses the two editions of "Blood Hands" from the stage,through comparative analysis of the characters on the stage of Kunqu Opera,the performing skills of Kunqu actors,stage lighting and scenes,and so on to explore how with the development of the art of Kunqu,in the case of performing skills that are slightly inferior to the older generation of Kunqu performing artists,how does the Kunqu work of the new era open up new paths,through the ingenuity of stage performance and freehand stage presentation,to make up for the lack of performance.The third chapter starts from the perspective of cultural differences,and analyzes the cultural differences between Chinese and Western cultures presented in this drama exchange activity based on the adaptation of Shakespeare's Kunqu opera from the perspectives of human tradition and tragic spirit.And based on the comparative analysis of the texts and stage of the previous dramas,we explore the fusion trend of cultural differences presented by the adaptation works of two different eras.And from the perspective of cultural exchanges,we summarized the positive significance and enlightenment of the cross-cultural adaptation of Chinese operas to the revitalization of Chinese operas and the promotion of the "modern opera modernization" process.The concluding part summarizes and summarizes the main issues elaborated in this paper,and emphasizes the positive significance of cross-cultural adaptation to the development of Chinese opera.
