Education is based on a hundred-year plan.With the implementation of quality education,middle and primary school emphasize the importance of cultivating students'subject,developing their positive psychological quality.At the same time,the" English Curriculum Standard" of compulsory education puts forward some suggestions to cultivate students' self-confidence consciousness in primary school English curriculum.From the analysis of the real state,there is a common phenomenon of low self-efficacy in English learning of primary school students.Therefore,it is of great significance to analyze the law of primary school students' English self-efficacy and how to improve primary school students' English self-efficacy,which can provide guidance and help for primary school students' English learning.In this study,the third to sixth grade students in primary school in Wuhan,Hubei province were selected as the subjects,and the questionnaire,interview and observational methods were used to carry out the research.In this study,341 questionnaires were sent out to primary school students,and 330 questionnaires were recovered effectively,by sorting out the results of the questionnaire,20 students with low academic self-efficacy in learning English were randomly divided into experimental group(n=10)and control group(n=10).At the same time,10 primary English teacher and 16 primary school students were interviewed about the questions of English self-efficacy.Through the research and analysis,this study draws the following rules and conclusions:1.the English learning self-efficacy of the subjects belongs to the middle and upper levels,but there is a small number of primary school students' English learning efficacy is not high;2.the sixth grade students have the highest English learning efficacy,followed by the third grade,and finally,the fifth and fourth.grades show an upward trend of English learning efficacy as a whole;3.There is no significant gender difference in primary school students' sense of efficacy in English learning,but the gender effect of confidence in examination is significant,and the gender effect of fourth-grade pupils'self-confidence is the examination is the most significant;4.There are many factors that affect students' self-efficacy in English learning,and test anxiety is a common problem in primary school students' English learning;5.Teacher generally agree with the importance and necessity of cultivating students' English self-efficacy,but at the same time,teachers' use of teachers' expectations to enhance students' self-efficacy is not good.Based on the eight factors that affect pupils' sense of English self-efficacy(direct experience,indirect experience,speech persuasion,emotional awakening,attributive style,learning strategy,goal setting,teacher's expectation),this study puts forward some strategies to cultivate pupils self-efficacy in English learning:1.to construct personal experience;2.to draw lessons from the experience of others;3.to improve teaching evaluation.Stimulate learning motivation;4.advocate student center and cultivate self-confidence consciousness;5.use teachers' expectations to transform learning attitude.Finally,based on the learning theory,the influencing factors of self-efficacy,the feature of primary students' English learning and the characteristics of group activities,this study compiles a group counseling scheme for primary school students' self-efficacy in English learning,hoping it can be helpful can for primary students' English learning.
