The Influence Of Parents' Phubbing On Adolescent Mobile Phone Addiction Tendency

This study aims to explore the relationship among parents' phubbing,teenagers' mobile phone addiction tendency,family cohesion,and negative emotions and examine the mediating effect of family cohesion and negative emotions on parents' phubbing and teenagers' mobile phone addiction tendency.The study conducted a parent-child pairing survey on 700 households in two high schools in Hebei Province by using the phubbing scale,mobile phone addiction tendency scale,family closeness scale,and negative emotion scale.SPSS 25.0 mplus7.4 and amos22.0 was used to analyze data.The results show that:(1)There was a significant positive correlation between parents' phubbing,teenagers' mobile phone addiction tendency,and negative emotions;family cohesion was significantly negatively correlated with parents' phubbing,teenagers' mobile phone addiction tendency,and negative emotions.(2)Parents' phubbing can significantly predict teenagers' mobile phone addiction tendency.(3)Family cohesion mediated the relationship between parents' phubbing and teenagers' mobile phone addiction tendency.(4)Negative emotions mediated the relationship between parents' phubbing and teenagers' mobile phone addiction tendency.(5)Family cohesion and negative emotions played chain mediating effect between parents' phubbing and teenagers' mobile phone addiction tendency.
