A Study Of Ding Bing's Poetry

Ding Bing was a famous business gentry and bibliophile in Hangzhou,Zhejiang province in the late Qing Dynasty.At present,the academic research on him mainly focuses on the collection of books,charity activities,industrial establishment and so on,but rarely involves in his literary works.In fact,Ding Bing has many existing works,including six poems: Song Mengliao Poetry Manuscript,Song In the Chrysanthemum Side,A Poem about Three Ponds,Beiguo poetry account,Continuation of Donghe Zhaoge,Wujing Collection.Ding Bing's poems total more than 1300,with rich contents and wide themes.The purpose of this paper is to study Ding Bing's poetry works,to understand his poetry creation ideas,to classify and analyze the content of his poetry,and then to explore his poetry artistic style.The thesis consists of three parts: introduction,main body and conclusion.The introduction part mainly explains the purpose of the topic,the research status and the research methods.The main body is divided into four chapters.Chapter one: Ding Bing's Life and Poetry Collection.First of all,it describes Ding Bing's life story and understands his main thoughts.Then,from the perspective of philology,it combs and inspects the background and form of his several major poetry collections,including:Song Mengliao Poetry Manuscript,Song In the Chrysanthemum Side,A Poem about Three Ponds,Beiguo poetry account,Continuation of Donghe Zhaoge,Wujing Collection.Chapter two: Ding Bing's Social Intercourse and the Conclusion of Poetry Club.This chapter mainly discusses the cultural environment that influences Ding Bing's creation from the literary circle of teachers and friends as well as the atmosphere of the times,with Ding Bing's participation in the Tiehua Poetry Club as the focus.Chapter three: The Classification of The Content of Poetry Theme.Ding Bing's poems can be divided into five categories:entertainment poems,current affairs poems,mourning poems,chrysanthemum poems,and painting poems,which can show the whole picture of Ding Bing's poetry creation as much as possible.Chapter four: Origin of Poetics and Artistic Features.From the perspective of literary aesthetics,this paper studies the poetic origin and artistic style of Ding Bing's poetry.Afterreading his poems,I found that he learned from others and turned to many teachers,forming his own poetics.Ding Bing is knowledgeable and his poems tend to be of the Song Dynasty.Yearning for rural life,Tao Yuanming became his spiritual pillar.Visit the mountains and rivers and temples,so that Ding Bing have an optimistic and unrestrained attitude towards life.Through the social turbulence,his poetry is full of realism,which is quite the artistic style of Du Fu's "depression and frustration".The conclusion part mainly discusses the significance and influence of Ding Bing's poetry creation.Through the study of Ding Bing's poetry,we hope to enrich his image under the background of his status as a calligrapher,philanthropist and industrialist.
