On The Spatial Narrative Of Yu Hua's Novels

Yu Hua's novel has a unique spatial characteristic,which is reflected not only in the content of the home,roads,hospitals,squares and cemeteries and other specific space,but also in fractal,juxtaposition,repetition,space-time switching plot structure,as well as page layout presented in the dense and sparse form.The spatial characteristics of his novels are closely related to his experience of growing up in special time,reading the opus of foreign writers and being influenced by music.This paper takes spatial narrative as the theoretical background of interpretation,taking the spatial characteristics of Yuhua's novels as the object of examination,and trying to reveal the relief of the trauma of the after-the-fact nature of the author's experience by analyzing the spatial characteristics of Yuhua's novels in the spatial aspects of content,structure and form.The realization of the realistic pursuit of meaningful form and inner reality in writing,as well as the realization of the time-telling of the traditional novels before the 80's,in order to match the reader's reading,adjust the rhythm of the reader's reading and the aesthetic requirements in the era of market economy consumption.The full text is divided into six parts: the introduction part combs the current research status of spatial narrative of Yu Hua's novels and the research background of spatial narrative,explains the research significance,methods and contents,and interprets the "space narrative" with relevant theoretical research.The first chapter analyzes the content presentation of Yu Hua Novels spatiality.In this part,the author mainly selects five special places of character activities in Yu Hua's novels to analyze: home,hospital,road,square,cemetery,and elaborate its influence on figure building and its metaphorical function.The second chapter analyzes the formal presentation of Yu Hua Novels spatiality.In this part,the author compares Yu Hua's novels in the early and later periods to explore the changes of formal spatial presentation in the two periods: in the early stage,the plot structure present juxtaposition and fractal and the page layout shows dense form;the plot structure present circulation and time-space switch and the page layout show sparse form during later period.The third chapter traces the origin for the spatial nature of YuHua's novels.This part of the author discusses how the space in Yuhua's novels is gradually constructed from the three aspects of Yuhua's growth experience in special time,the influence of foreign writers' opus and the influence of Chinese and foreign music.The fourth chapter discusses the spatial significance of Yu Hua's novels.This part explores the significance and value of Yu Hua's spatial narrative to the post-mortem trauma of the author's experience,the realization of the creative concept of "inner truth" and "meaningful form",and the breakthrough of time narrative in the traditional novels before the 80's.The conclusion part summarizes the whole paper,and on this basis,thinks about the future development of the spatial narrative research in Yuhua's novels.
