The question of man has long been a “sphinx riddle” that has not been well answered, leaving many philosophers to think and interpret with painstaking care.Feuerbach,as one of the representative figures in the study of humanism, put forward humanistic materialism from the perspective of sensibility and nature, and believed that the essence of man is the essence of humanity, which has made great contributions in the history of philosophy.Marx, unlike Feuerbach, thought that human nature was the sum of social relations from the standpoint of practice. On the basis of Feuerbach's humanistic materialism,Marx critically inherited and suspended it,forming a unique practical materialism, thus expressing the scientific definition of human nature.Feuerbach and Marx have a lot in common, but more is different, which is related to the subjective and objective conditions at that time. This paper will expound the comparative study of Feuerbach's and Marx's essential thoughts from four parts. The first chapter focuses on the analysis of the research status at home and abroad, points out the problems in the research, and highlights the purpose and significance of the research. The second chapter focuses on analysis of Feuerbach and the Marx human nature thought the time background of formation, from the time of the development of natural science,to analysis and Hegel's philosophical system and methods of the spirit of the age,the inherent contradiction of three aspects to explain Feuerbach with Marx in the face of the same opportunity, why is out of the different road,to form the different philosophical thoughts. The third chapter focuses on the analysis of the similarities between Feuerbach and Marx's thoughts on human nature.Firstly,it points out that both of them stand on the perceptual natural standpoint and affirm Feuerbach's historical achievements.Secondly,it is found that the object of criticism of human essence is the same.Feuerbach and Marx both criticized Hegel's speculative idealism and religious theology,so as to highlight Feuerbach's influence on Marx's thought. The fourth chapter starts to analyze the differences between Feuerbach's andMarx's thought of human essence, mainly from the three aspects of human essence.First,it is pointed out that there are different emphases on human nature.Feuerbach only pays attention to human in nature, while Marx also sees human in society.Second,it analyzes the different core contents of the thought of human nature.Feuerbach attributes human nature to the nature of kind, while Marx puts human nature on the basis of practice and proposes that human nature is the sum of social relations.Third, the essence of human thought to address the path is different, one is the religion of love, one is the free and comprehensive development of human. The fifth chapter focuses on the reasons for the difference between Feuerbach and Marx in the essence of human thought.Second,Feuerbach and Marx stand on the shoulders of different giants;Third,Feuerbach and Marx follow different principles and beliefs;Fourth,Feuerbach and Marx's theoretical character is different.
