Nvshu is a special type of script created and used by women. The writing content by using Nvshu as the carrier not only provides rich historical data for later generations to study national culture, but also adds a strong stroke to Chinese calligraphy.Although in the era of the creation of Nvshu, the writing of Nvshu did not exist as an independent calligraphy art,nor did it form a conscious calligraphy aesthetic, its calligraphic character has been passed down from generation to generation in its use value. With the continuous development of economy and culture, the design of Chinese characters should be combined with the national culture and adopt new design elements to achieve a completely different visual form than before, injecting new vitality into Chinese characters.Nvshu is used as a national cultural resource,so the research on Nvshu's characters can be extended to the artistic level. There are a lot of excellent design elements that can be used for reference in Nvshu, which are of great value in font design.By digging its glyph characteristics and writing rules, its excellent character elements can be used for reference in font design.Regular script calligraphy,as one of the five types of traditional calligraphy, plays an indispensable role in the design of modern Chinese calligraphy with its correct structure. The fusion of the two is not only the enrichment of traditional calligraphy writing forms, but also the inheritance and development of Nvshu's calligraphy. This paper mainly researches and discusses from two perspectives of Nvshu's calligraphy and regular script calligraphy of Chinese characters.Nvshu's calligraphy takes the study of the original ecological Nvshu's calligraphy as an example, and regular script calligraphy of Chinese characters takes the study of regular script of the Tang Dynasty as an example.First of all, this paper gives a brief overview of Nvshu's calligraphy and regular script calligraphy, and analyzes the status of regular script in Chinese calligraphy. On the one hand, regular script follows the cursive script so its writing is more convenient and practical. On the other hand, because of the practicality of regular script,it is not disconnected from the development of the times. So it is easier to learn and digest in modern Chinese character design than other script styles. The combination of the two is to inject new vitality into the traditional calligraphy culture and the new font design.Secondly,it studies the value of regular script calligraphy.Regular script calligraphy has high aesthetic value in terms of lines, structure, strokes, rules, etc. Then a comparison is made between them in this paper. After the comparative analysis,I know that Nvshu's calligraphy and regular script calligraphy of Chinese characters are different in the shape, stroke and structure. The strokes and lines of Nvshu's characters are similar to those of Oracle and the small seal script. It not only has the archaic strength of Oracle, but also has the symmetrical fluency of the small seal script. The shape of Nvshu has great variability and dynamics. It can adjust the thickness of strokes and the length of the shape according to the needs. Also, the inclination of the strokes of Nvshu can be changed and the shape of Nvshu has a strong expressive force. However, because Nvshu is a variant of Chinese characters, there is a certain correspondence between it and Chinese characters in strokes, parts and so on.Finally, according to the principles and the methods of font design,in the design practice of combining Nvshu's calligraphy with the style characteristics of regular script of Chinese characters,it is necessary to combine the character features of Nvshu's font to make specific design from the two aspects of the stroke and structure.
