Report On Machine Translation And Post-translation Editing Of Environmental Education And Ecotourism

Amid the trend that machine translation+post-editing(MTPE)has grown as the mainstream mode in the translation sector,the translator attempts to complete translation project with the state-of-the-art translation technology tools to fuel work efficiency.The source text,the book Environmental Education and Ecotourism,focuses on the emerging field of ecotourism,and the excerpted part for this project gives an introduction to development of environmental education,ecotourism as well as relevant concepts,which is ideal for application of MTPE modelDuring the translation process,the translation by the aided tool iFLYTEK software is edited,the post-editing workload is recorded,and the feasibility of MTPE application is verified.It is found that the availability of the machine-translated text has been significantly improved,but the quality remains unsatisfactory.Machine translation errors mainly lie in three aspects:format errors,improper translation of words and sentences as well as missing translation.To this end the targeted post-editing methods including improper adjustment of order and careful consideration of context are discussed in the report in order to provide operational suggestions for modern translators.
