In the modern history of China, the Republic of China is undoubtedly a special period, the economic progress gave birth to a lot of new commercial things, such as the moon plate painting.Yuerun card painting is a product of the development of commercial economy, and to some extent it is regarded as one of the most representative commercial cultural symbols in the period of the Republic of China. From another point of view,as the main body of yuerun card painting, women hide the gaze of men.The unequal relationship between "seeing" and "being seen" reflects that in the context of a patriarchal society, women inevitably and indiscriminately become the "chosen" objects. At the same time,it also reflects the role of women as a kind of objectified commodity symbol, which influences their self-identification and self-consciousness construction, and reflects a deeper meaning behind it.This paper mainly analyzes the female image in the calendar painting in the period of the Republic of China, and studies the change of female consciousness reflected behind it.The first part outlines the background of the calendar painting,to understand its origin and development;the second part discusses the image of women in the calendar painting, with traditional women and new women images for comparative analysis,to clarify the changes of the two images in the social changes. This paper analyzes the relationship between the transformation of women’s image and the establishment of women’s self-consciousness in the calendar painting;the third part focuses on the women’s consciousness expressed in many calendar paintings, and sums up the characteristics of women’s consciousness from the diverse and rich women’s images;finally,it summarizes the women’s consciousness expressed in the calendar painting from the ideological and artistic aspects.
