Research On Chinese News Quotes

Quotation is very common in Chinese news discourse and an indispensable part of news discourse.The use of quotations in news discourse enhances the authenticity of the content,eases the narrative rhythm,and makes the report more interesting.At the same time,the use of quotations can also create a scene effect and imply the real attitude of the author towards the news report.There are usually different types of speech in news discourse,and the differences among these types of speech are mainly reflected in the following aspects: guide sentence,quotation sentence and punctuation mark.The quoted sentence refers to the quoted content.The leading sentence is relative to the quoted sentence and usually consists of the source of the quotation and the quoted verb.For example,"general secretary Xi Jinping emphasizes",in which "general secretary Xi Jinping" is the source of the quotation and "emphasis" is the quoted verb.Different types of speech have different pragmatic functions.At present,there is still no conclusion on several types of problems of quotation in the academic circle,and the in-depth exploration of the structural characteristics and pragmatic functions of quotation also needs to be further considered.In view of the above reasons,this paper takes the quotations in Chinese news discourse as the research object,and finally summarizes four typical types of quotations in Chinese news discourse,namely direct speech,indirect speech,free direct speech and free indirect speech,through corpus analysis and combining with previous studies.There are mainly two types of verbs used in news quotes,that is,speech verbs and intention verbs.Speaking verbs usually appear in direct speech and indirect speech.Intentional verbs indicate that the quoted content is an unspoken state of mind.Free indirect speech USES intentional verbs.In addition,the use of verbs is also influenced by the source of speech.This paper is divided into six parts.The introduction part expounds the origin of the research,clarifies the research object,introduces the source of corpus and the research results.The first chapter introduces the current views on the classification of news quotes in the academic world and puts forward its own thoughts on the classification.The second chapter summarizes the commonly used source structures of direct speech in news discourse,reveals the law of the collocation of quoted verbs with quoted sources,and summarizes the law of the modifiers before quoted verbs.The third chapter focuses on the structural characteristics of free direct speech in news discourse and summarizes the positional characteristics of free direct speech in news discourse.The fourth chapter focuses on the sources of indirect speech in news discourse,summarizes several common structural forms of indirect speech,and reveals the collocation rules of quoted verbs and sources as well as the composition of verbs.The fifth chapter mainly describes the typical guide sentences and the commonly used verb types of free indirect speech in news discourse,and summarizes the usage rules of verbs.The conclusion summarizes the research ideas and contents of this paper,and points out the shortcomings of the research.
