A Report On Translation Of The Excerptsfrom Bioeconomy:Shaping The Transition To A Sustainable,Biobased Economy

The application of biotechnology is of benefit to the alleviation of environmental pollution,the realization of energy diversification and energy security,and the promotion of employment growth.The wave of bio-economic development is expected to become a force to promote the progress of human civilization.The translation materials of this report are selected from Bioeconomy: Shaping the Transition to a Sustainable,Biobased Economy(hereinafter referred to as Bioeconomy).This book introduces the concept of bioeconomy and its application in various fields.The author selects two chapters as the translation materials,which mainly introduce the function of forest,the sustainable utilization and management of forest,and three different types of aquaculture.The original text belongs to scientific and technological text,which contains a large number of terms and long sentences with complicated structure.At the textual level,a large number of pronouns and conjunctions are used to make the text more cohesive and logical.Under the guidance of the theory of translation variation,this translation practice flexibly uses various translation variation methods from lexis,syntax and text,taking into account both the readability of the translation and the reading habits of the readers of target text.In this translation practice,the interpretation supplement method is used to deal with professional terms and the extended meaning method to translate semi-professional terms,so as to make them more professional;the addition method,the omission method,the trans-editing method and the adaptation method are used to translate sentences in an effort to make the translation more smooth and understandable;reductive pronoun method and logic explicitness method are used to make the translation more logical at the textual level.Through this translation practice,the author has learned from experience of bioeconomy development in foreign countries.And it can enrich the domestic materials about bioeconomy,provide information for those who need it,and also provide references for the translation of such texts.
