This is a translation project report on Introduction to Handmade Paper in Anhui Province(excerpts)and it will be published in 2020.Introduction to Handmade Paper in Anhui Province is part of a series of books,Library of Chinese Handmade Paper,supported by the National Publishing Fund,which introduces in detail the production of handmade paper in Anhui Province,especially the production process of Xuan paper The original text adopts simple and precise words and expressions with clear logic,which aims to convey information objectively.Therefore,in the process of translation,under the guidance of Newmark’s Text Typology Theory,the author applies translation techniques and methods of conversion,amplification and omission,annotation,change of voice in view of the culture-loaded words,long and difficult sentences and logical cohesion of discourse,and strives to select corresponding translation methods according to the text type of the original text so as to make the translation close to the purpose of the original text to the greatest extentThis report consists of five parts:the first part introduces the translation tasks;the second part is the summary of translation process;the third part is the introduction to the Text Typology Theory;the fourth part is the specific analysis of translation skills and methods used in translating the original text under the guidance of the Text Typology Theory through case study;the last part is the achievements and limitation of the translation practice.
