This is a translation project report on the third chapter of Library of Chinese handmade paper: Yunnan Volume.It consists of six chapters,introducing six kinds of handmade paper of the Southwest Area in Yunnan Province from the aspects of basic information and map,cultural and geographic environment,history,processing techniques and technical analysis,usage and sales,folk customs and culture,preservation and development.And the processing techniques and technical analysis are meticulously described to vividly illustrate the papermaking details.The translation of this project belongs to intangible cultural heritage(hereinafter referred to as ICH)Translation,one of the most important part of international publicity translation,which is of great significance to the protection and promotion of cultural diversity in China.This report consists mainly of five parts.The first chapter is an introduction to the translation project,including the selection,the purpose and significance of the project,and the structure of the report.Chapter Two is devoted to literature review,which describes the studies on ICH Translation abroad and in China.The third chapter is about research background,introduction to theories,the text content and analysis.The fourth chapter is about the translation process,namely the part combines theories with practice,mainly including the preparation for this project,and measures that can be taken to solve translation problems from the perspectives of translation variation theory and functional equivalence theory.Chapter Five is a summary of translation experiences and tips,as well as limitations and suggestions for future research.
