A Report On The Translation Of Future Presence

Nowadays,with the acceleration of globalization and the rapid development of science and technology,the demand for technical translation is increasing with each passing day.More and more foreign works introducing frontier science and technology have entered China,which can not only popularize scientific knowledge to Chinese readers,but also spread the spirit of science to the public.The book Future Presence,written by the American writer Peter Rubin,mainly introduces virtual reality technology,which is one of the most significant innovation since the smartphone.This thesis,a translation report,selected some chapters of the book as the original text for translation.Under the guidance of the Skopos theory,the translator carried out translation practice and selected examples in the process of translation for analysis.This thesis is divided into five parts: description of the translation project,introduction of the translation process,theoretical framework,case studies and conclusion of translation project.The thesis indicated the significance of guiding Skopos theory to choose appropriate translation methods and to solve the translation problems,ensured the quality of the translated text and provided reference and guidance for the future translation practice.
