The translation of science and technology has always been a hot issue in the field of translation studies, the frontier of which has been pushed forward by the recent rise of artificial intelligence industry. The focus of the present translation project is selected from an analysis of the artificial intelligence industry released by Mckinsey Global Institute in 2017,entitled as Artificial Intelligence, the Next Digital Frontier? This study follows the principles of the Text Typology theory proposed by Katharina Reiss, the representative of German functionalism.Reiss categorizes texts into informative texts, expressive texts and operative texts, and argues that the type of texts determines the translation methods and translation standards.According to the Text Typology theory, the text being studied belongs to the category of informative text, and the translator should focus on conveying original information accurately with plain prose. The approaches of parallel text, literature research and case study are adopted to analyze the translation strategies of achieving information accuracy in lexis, syntax and discourse in scientific and technology texts. In line with the features of artificial intelligence texts,it is proposed that the translation of technical terms should be accurate and consistent, while new terms should be translated flexibly. The translation of sentences should focus on translating long sentences in sequence and in variable sequence, splitting off long sentences.Textual cohesion and coherence is also underlined by this text. This thesis concludes that Text Typology theory has important implications for the translation of scientific and technology texts,in that the translator should focus on the accuracy and consistency of technical terms, the fluency of sentences and the coherence of discourse.Only through the translation strategies from the tree aspects,is it possible to reproduce the original texts effectively.
