More and more companies now have their own brand mascots.Various enterprises and organizations have used their mascot images to cater to the psychology of the audience.In essence,the mascots are used to show the intrinsic characteristics and image strength of the company or organization,being the communicator of culture and dominant information.In the development of Western art and design trends,more and more design styles have influenced the design ideas in the mascot field,and different forms of design methods have been produced correspondingly.Today,with the extensive exchange of world culture and the rapid development of science and technology,contemporary design ideas and styles have injected new ideas and inspiration into the design of mascots.The mascot image design is an important cross-domain branch between visual identity recognition and application promotion,and has high academic and application value.The introduction to the first chapter of the thesis clarifies the literature review,academic background and research content of the paper,and defines the core concepts of the paper.The second chapter summarizes and analyzes the common design elements in mascot design.It is different from the mascot classification of characters,animals and plants and things without concrete prototypes in the traditional sense.It analyzes the characteristics of different shapes of mascots by distinguishing and classifying the design language of the mascots of concrete form,abstract form and form between the two.After that,it divides the objective form of the mascot into two types,the independent one and the family one.In the process of analysis,the mascot's modeling structure,role proportion,color application and other aspects are discussed in detail.It also shows that in the aesthetic elements of mascot design at current stage,the aesthetics of the ethnic region and the display of core competitiveness are the final breakthrough points of the design.As the spokesperson of brand promotion,the mascot has an important position in the promotion of enterprises.The third chapter recognizes and studies the inspiration and influence of contemporary design trends on the design of mascots in the time category of contemporary design,and clarifies the application of artistic styles in mascot design corresponding to contemporary design trends,and again in this way,returns to the mascot design,striving to build a complete theoretical system of it.The thesis,through the exploration and the comparative and inductive analysis of the literature cases,mainly systematically teases the contemporary design thoughts,analyzes the social background and development characteristics of the five major artistic trends of minimalism,deconstruction,contextism,pop style and Memphis style,and makes corresponding exploration and analysis on the theoretical basis of contemporary design thoughts and the case analysis of mascot design.The fourth chapter clarifies that the mascot object,as an objective visualization,only by transforming into a derivative object with commercial behavior can its brand value be better realized.This requires that at the beginning of the design of the mascot,it is necessary to consider the differentiated positioning of the corporate mascot that is different from the same category,not only visual differentiation but also distinctive features of the brand culture is need.The mascot needs to carry the connotation of corporate culture while seeking to shorten the psychological distance with the mass.In the last chapter of the thesis,it analyzes the future development trend of the mascot,and shows that the the mascot will be the main theme that complies with the trend and development of the times with the vision being made.The paper hopes to provide new ideas for the future mascot design and promote the development of the mascot industry through the analysis of design and research of the mascot and its derivative effect under the influence of contemporary design trends.
