On The Chinese Translation Of Long Sentences In Energy Humanities Text Under Communicative Translation Theory

The translation project is based on the collection Fueling Culture:101 Words for Energy and Environment published in 2017.The book selects 101 key words to introduce the emerging field of energy humanities.This translation report choses the chapters on nations and regions from the book for translation,because energy cooperation among countries is becoming more and more frequent and we need to deepen our understanding of the unique energy culture of various countries and regions in the view of globalizationThrough the analysis of the original text,it is found that the text has complex structures,logical reasoning,and many long and difficult sentences.At the same time,it contains many energy-related terms and involves a large amount of professional knowledge in energy and humanities.Therefore,the emphasis of the report is the Chinese translation of long sentences related to the knowledge of energy humanitiesIn view of the fact that the intention of this book is to enable readers of all countries to have a deeper and comprehensive understanding of energy humanities,to spread energy culture and achieve the goal of cross-cultural communication,the translator chooses Newmark' s communicative translation theory to guide the practice of Chinese translation in energy humanities texts.In the process of translation,the authenticity of the original text and the language habits of the target language readers are given priority,so as to conform to the readers' cultural norms and make the translation more authenticBy using Newmark's communicative translation theory,the translator finds that it is necessary to integrate closely the background of energy humanities in the text so as to clarify the concrete and logical relationships of sentences,and then choose appropriate translation methods to adjust the sentence structures.Finally,the communicative purpose required by the communicative translation theory is realized and it is easier for readers to understand.
