Liaison Interpretation Practice Report On The Investigation For Construction Progress Of Jiutai Energy By Universal Oil Products Company

From October 8^thh to October 13^th,2018,the author went to the Jiutai Energy?Jungar Banner?Co.,Ltd.,and served as the liaison interpreter in the investigation for MTO Construction Progress of Jiuta Energy By Universal Oil Products Company representatives.Founded in 2002,Jiutai Energy is a private enterprise based on coal chemical products,with a number of independent intellectual property rights,mainly engaged in the development and production of methanol,dimethyl ether,olefin,ethylene glycol and other new products.During the interpretation work,the interpreter was mainly responsible for the daily communication and conference discussion between the foreign experts and engineers from UOP Company and the representatives from Methanol to Olefin department of Jiutai Energy.This report is the Liaison Interpretation Practice Report about the Investigation for MTO Construction Progress of Jiuta Energy?Jungar?By Universal Oil Products Company.Based on some typical cases,this report sorts out some questions existed in the construction after the foreign experts and engineers completed 40%of their construction progress review as well as some problems involved in the daily communication,and analyzes the problems encountered in the interpretation process.When reviewing the interpretation process,this report focuses on the pre-interpretation preparation,which is divided into two phases,early and mid-late preparation,and describes the preparatory work done by the interpreter at different stages in detail.In the process of case study,the interpreter analyzes the key and difficult problems in the process of interpreting,and proposes the corresponding interpreting methods.At the same time,the interpreter also analyzes the phenomenon of misinterpretation and lost information in the interpretation practice.Based on the case analysis of herself in the course of this mission,the present report draws the following conclusions:1.Through the practice,the interpreter realized that the more adequate a interpreter prepares,the more comfortable he or she will be able to cope with thesudden problems in the interpretation process so as to improve the quality of interpretation;2.The interpreter summarized several effective solutions to dispose the chemical professional vocabularies during the liaison interpretation,such as direct reference,immediate lookup of the words,and direct questioning;3.When confronted with a speaker with a strong regional accent,the interpreter also used the methods of repeating and direct questioning;4.Interpreters could use supplementary explanations and conjunctions to complete cohesion problems in interpretation.The author of this report hopes that the solutions to these problems from this practical report can be useful for reference by other interpreters.
