Nowadays, corporation and exchanges across the world have developed at a rapid rate on a scale not witnessed before in human history.China's comprehensive national strength increases, and the Chinese culture has been widely recognized by other countries' people, such as traditional Chinese acupuncture and the Peking Opera that have been listed in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.Leading Chinese cultural institutions such as the Confucius Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine(CITCM)are pushing forward agendas and creating platforms for both our university's international cooperation and greater cooperation and cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. This paper puts forward some practical strategies for interpretation based on the London headteachers' eight-day investigation in China. At the mean time, the author finally summarize some interpretation experience according to it.Through the practice of this interpreting task, the translation work left a complex and arduous impression with the author. The author summed up the deficiencies, put forward some valuable experience, and hoped it could constantly improve the author himself in the future work of interpretation study,as well as those students who are engaged in interpretation and translation. The report is divided into four chapters.Chapter One discusses the basic tasks of a interpreter's job in liaison interpretation for the CITCM headteachers.Chapter Two looks at the interpreting process which is sub-divided into three parts: pre-translation,liaison interpretation and post-translation.Chapter Three which forms the core of the study, uses different theoretical analysis to guide the application of translation in practical settings, from voice to word functions and sentence usage in translation study.Furthermore,Chapter Three makes an in-depth analysis of translation on practise cases with great emphasis on cultural meanings. Finally,Chapter Four offers a summary of the findings, the importance of multi-cultural interpretation and recommendations for future studies.
