Xinjiang rock painting is a precious cultural heritage of our country. As an important representative of Xinjiang rock painting,Dundebulake rock painting has great research value in history, culture and art.At present, the study of prehistoric rock paintings in China is still not deep enough, and the study of Xinjiang's rock painting technology is still in the preliminary stage of study, and the whole series of research on the drawing part is still a blank. The purpose of this study is to do a series of research on the drawing of Dundebulake rock paintings, namely, drawing content, creative intention, artistic characteristics, how to draw and so on.Among them, the content of drawing, the intention of creating and the expression of artistic characteristics constitute the part of cultural characteristics, and how to draw is the part of drawing process analysis. In this study,we use the method of interdisciplinary research to draw the corresponding conclusions by means of literature review, scientific testing, simulation experiments and so on.Taking the image of cattle in Dundebulake's rock painting surface as the breakthrough point, this paper chooses the image of cattle in Dundebulake's rock painting surface 1 as the main research object, and the image of cattle in Dundebulake's rock painting surface 4 as the auxiliary research object. And adhere to the concept of non-destructive protection, the rock painting body is not sampled, using on-site non-destructive analysis and auxiliary sample analysis. In the research, aerial photography,three-dimensional modeling,micro-photos,portable microscopy,hand-held fluorescence spectrometer and so on are used.It is concluded that the cattle in the rock paintings of Dundebulake No.1 and Dundebulake No.4 belong to Bison bonasus(or Zebu)and Aurochs. The cattle in the rock paintings of Dundebulake No.1 were created by primitive humans who saw the migration of animals and shocked the spirit of nature, resulting in the picture composition and the phenomenon of "image transformation" of the picture. In addition,it was found that the cattle in the rock paintings of Dundebulake No.1 and Dundebulake No.4 may be the embodiment of hunting witchcraft. The artistic characteristics of cattle in Dundebulack rock paintings are analyzed and summarized. It can be seen that the expression of animal images in Xinjiang rock paintings tends to simplify with the change of time.It is also found that the differences of artistic styles between Chinese and Western paintings have appeared in the Paleolithic Age.Based on the analysis of the rock and pigments,it is concluded that the rock is metamorphic rock and the pigments are ochre. Before painting, primitive humans chose the flat rock wall formed by natural wind erosion as the painting carrier. There was the possibility of rock polishing/polishing with medium-soft materials.Pigments were ground, blended and painted on rocks.Through simulation experiments,it is concluded that the grinding method of pigments is crushing first and then grinding fine.Water and animal glue are pigments blending materials that can draw similar pictures.Branch is the most similar painting tool.Based on the comprehensive conclusion, the imitation experiment of cattle in Dundebulake No.1 rock painting surface was carried out, from which the possibility of drawing technique was summarized and found, which can be used as auxiliary data.By analyzing the cultural characteristics and painting techniques of Dundebulake's rock paintings, this paper fills in the blank of the research on the creation process of Xinjiang's rock paintings.
