The picture book which is a new type of course for English courses or school-based courses is accepted by more and more primary school English teachers.It is also used as a carrier of primary school English reading to make it more suitable for English reading teaching in primary school.The picture book whose stories are concise is well illustrated with its distinct pictures,and its vivid and interesting characteristics are designed to enhance children 's learning interest and help pupils develop good reading habits.Based on the theory of Input Hypothesis,questionnaire observation,interview,and experiment are used to explore the application of Input Hypothesis in reading teaching of English picture book in senior grades of primary school.It mainly solves two questions: 1.How is the theory of Input Hypothesis combined with the teaching practice of English picture-book reading for senior grades of the primary school? 2.What are the effects of English picture book reading teaching based on the theory of Input Hypothesis? This thesis puts forward the design principles and basic information of English picture book teaching,and gives specific teaching cases.On this basis,the author implemented an experiment that lasted for one term to apply Input Hypothesis to the reading teaching of English textbooks in senior grades of primary school.In the meanwhile,Relevant data are collected during the experiment to complete the analysis and discussion.It is found that the teaching of picture-book reading based on the guidance of Input Hypothesis is helpful to understand the importance and difficulties of picture-book reading to enhance the input of English reading classes and to improve students reading ability to a certain extent.In addition.After the experiment,questionnaire,interview and data analysis have shown that applying Input Hypothesis to the English picture-book reading teaching can stimulate students' interest in reading,expand students' English input,broaden English reading ideas and enrich reading teaching methods.
