On February 24,2014,President Xi proposed "Enhancing cultural self-confidence" during the thirteenth collective study of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.During the two sessions in 2016,"craftsmanship" was included in the government work report for the first time.Documentaries are an essential medium for the world to know China.Besides,since countries are close to each other increasingly,the qualities of communication services like interpretation also demands enhancement.Interpretation activities and research plays a special role in promoting cultural exchange and “going abroad”.This report is a mock interpretation practice report of two subsets of the documentary series Exploration and Discovery-The Journey of Zisha teapot,produced by CCTV.The Journey of Zisha Teapot was launched in September 2018 that mainly described the production process of Zisha teapot.Exploration and Discovery is a large-scale documentary program recording history and natural geography of China with a high cultural taste and connotation.Guided by the Interpretive Theory and combined with the documentary's textual features,the report particularly analyzes the problems and difficulties confronted in the courses of simulated interpretation.This theory takes translation as a communicative act which the purpose is conveying linguistic meaning rather than linguistic modes and also emphasizing the importance of cognitive supplement.Through combining case study with proper nouns,culture-loaded words,expressions with Chinese characteristics,phrase and sentence translation as a complement,the author listed corresponding strategies like domestication,foreignization,literal translation and several skills like combination and reorganization to prove the feasibility and effectiveness of the theory.
