| Self-confidence is an important factor in measuring one's mental health and also a major guarantee for success,especially for adolescents who are in the critical period of personality shaping and mental health development.The Confidence Code for Girls deals with some of the psychological problems of lack of self-confidence faced by adolescents around the world and gives corresponding solutions.Therefore,this book is also helpful in solving related psychological problems of adolescents in China.For this reason,the translator chose this book as the translation text of this translation practice report,aiming to provide Chinese adolescents with a golden key to open the door of self-confidence.The book consists of eleven chapters from which the translator,guided by Skopos Theory,selected six chapters as the translation content,and completed the translation task by the help of the translation assistant tools.This translation practice text has accomplished under the guidance of the three rules of Skopos Theory.Therefore,the entire translation activities can be followed by rules and basis.In addition,under the guidance of the three rules of Skopos Theory,the translator has adopted some translation strategies like literal translation,free translation,amplification,omission,division,transliteration,and conversion to make the translated text conform to the standards of “intratextual coherence” and “intertextual coherence”,which can be better understood and accepted by the target readers.The book consists of eleven chapters from which the translator,guided by Skopos Theory,selected six chapters as the translation content,and completed the translation task by the help of the translation assistant tools.Through the whole translation practice,the translator has not only improved the translation level to a certain extent,but also gained a comprehensive grasp of the translation theory of various factions.All these have laid a solid foundation for the translator's future translation activity. |
