New Forms Of Art In The Internet Age

Since the 1990 s,the Internet technology,which was born under the combination of computer technology and electronic technology,has been developing and evolving continuously and rapidly.The network developed by the Internet technology promotes our senses to evolve again and again while the art in cyberspace created with the electric medium has also been continuously developed and innovated.Traditional artists are constantly integrating into the Internet world through digitalization,while the Internet artists are also using the latest scientific and technological achievements to create their works.These new works are transforming our visual and sensory experience to incite new reflections on art and the era.By connecting the development history of new media art and network art with the aesthetic principles and communication theory,this paper intend to discuss the origin of Internet art and its characteristics through the analysis of such new art form.Under the wave of electronic revolution,artists must face the shift of aesthetic taste and artistic idea--moreover,the shift of world views and values--that is inevitably impacted by the new technology.This paper intends to explore how artists should face and over come such challenge regarding the characteristics of Internet art through the disccussion of speed,total field,and implosion.
