With the society advancing and under the background of the new curriculum standards reform,English learning is more and more important.Every step in English acquisition is paid attention including English homework.English homework as a very significant part in English learning whose managing system usually contains homework content design,checking and feedback etc.Now the related studies either focus on the content design or on the feedback,in other words,most of them study homework management separately rather than as a whole system,which may neglect its overall effect.This research aims at regarding homework management as a whole part,carrying out the“multiple” idea in each part through the whole process and breaking the one-size-fits mode.To be specific,the multiple homework management is brought up in the study,whose management is made up with content design,checking and feedback-the essential parts of homework managing system.At the same time,with the same goal,five kinds of homework content as well as the matching checking methods and feedback are designed.Unlike the past when students were forced toreceive the single kind of homework,in the study students are encouraged to choose according to their liking and ability so as to improve their initiative.Meanwhile the study conducts an experiment to testify the effectiveness in students' English learning interest and academic achievement.Two research questions are addressed in the study:1.Can the multiple management of English homework arouse students' English learning interest?2.Can the multiple management of English homework improve students' English academic achievement?To answer the two research questions,the study carried out an experiment in my school.Two parallel classes were chosen and one of them was EC which tried the multiple management of English homework.And in the EC,the author carried out the questionnaire and six students as interviewee attended the interview so as to collect the data.Before and after the experiment,the two classes also held tests to collect data.The quantitative data including data from questionnaire and tests was analyzed by SPSS25 while the qualitative data from interview was dealt by qualitative means.The main findings of the research are: Firstly,the multiple management of English homework is effective in arousing students' English learning interest.Secondly,the multiple management of Englishhomework can improve students' academic achievement.Thirdly,the multiple management of English homework can be beneficial in assisting students to form good learning habit and improve students' autonomous learning ability.Fourthly,the multiple management of English homework encourages the communication between teachers and students and can help built active atmosphere in English class.The thesis provides some suggestions to teachers and other studies.1)Homework management is a complete system and it is better to be treated together.2)Teachers should realize students are the subjects of learning and teachers are the helpers,not only in class-room teaching but also in homework.Students should be given more rights and room to improve their initiative.3)Students in senior high have realized the importance of English learning.It is necessary for English teachers to try various ways to help students find the appropriate approach.4)In senior high school,teachers are supposed to not limit their view just on the entrance-examination but also on the students' long term development to cultivate students some English skills and international view.
