| With the advancement of globalization and the rapid development of science and technology,the popularization of science has become more and more important.This translation practice report is based on the Chinese translation of:Unveiling Galaxies:The Role of Images in Astronomical Discovery as translation practice object,and focuses on the objective expression of translation as the control of interpretation limit.Through the analysis of the cases,this paper discusses the effectiveness of the selected strategies in the translation of scientific texts,hoping to provide some reference for the translation of such texts..Through analysis and induction,the translation problems found in the initial translation review are summarized as:the inaccurate interpretation of word meaning,the unclear interpretation of logical relations,and the lack of interpretation of logical structure.According to these problems,the relevant solutions are proposed for retranslation..In order to solve the problem of inaccurate interpretation of word meaning,the objective expression of professional vocabulary,the objective expression of addition compensation and the objective expression of word formation are adopted as the solution.In order to solve the problem of unclear interpretation of logic relations,this paper adopts the objective expression methods of vocabulary translation,phrase translation and clause translation.In view of the deficiency in the interpretation of the logical structure,this paper adopts the objective expression of causal inversion,the objective expression of center of gravity shift and the objective expression of sentence reorganization as solutions.This translation practice shows that the underinterpretation or over-interpretation of the translator in the process of translation will affect the accuracy of the translation.Objective expression as the limit of interpretation control has a certain practical value and effectiveness. |
